Arrival Day
Upon your arrival you will have a private transfer to your hotel. You will have leisure time for the remainder of the day on your own. Dubrovnik sits on Croatia’s southernmost stretch of the Adriatic coast and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979.
Day 2: Dubrovnik
Guided Walking Tour
This morning you will be met by your driver for a transfer to the Pile Gate to meet your guide for a walking tour of the Rector’s Palace, the Dominican Monastery and the city walls. You will enter the Old Town through Pile Gate, overlooked by the Minčeta and Bokar forts; Bokar now hosts performances of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. Visit the Franciscan Monastery, walk the Stradun, and see the City Cathedral, the Church of St. Blaise, the Sponza Palace, the Rector’s Palace, the bell towers and Orlando’s Column. Return to your hotel.
Day 3: Dubrovnik, Korčula and Split
Travel Day · Motorboat
This morning you will check out and travel on to Split by way of Korčula, with a private motorboat transfer via Mljet island. Check in to your Split hotel for a two-night stay. Along the way, explore Korčula, known besides its culture, art and history for its traditional stone-masonry and shipbuilding crafts, sword dances, music and writings, and for its most famous resident, Marco Polo. Dinner at the hotel restaurant.
Day 4: Split and Trogir
Guided Day Trip
This morning you will take a private tour of Diocletian’s Palace, built for the retiring Emperor Diocletian’s personal use in the 4th century, with the rest of the complex housing a military garrison; it is one of the most complete surviving Roman palaces in the world. Continue to Trogir, a small island town 30 km from Split set within medieval walls, known for its Romanesque and Renaissance architecture under Venetian rule; it earned UNESCO World Heritage status in the late 1990s for its cathedral. Afternoon at leisure. Return to Split.
Day 5: Split and Hvar
Day Trip · Hvar
This morning you will be driven to Hvar, a historic Adriatic town whose position at the center of the Adriatic sailing routes made it an important trading base to Italy and across the wider Mediterranean. Hvar Island, part of Split-Dalmatia County, has four municipalities: Hvar Town, Stari Grad, Jelsa and Sućuraj. Return to Split.
Day 6: Split, Plitvice Lakes and Opatija
Travel Day · UNESCO Site
This morning you will check out and continue to Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where limestone and chalk deposits have formed travertine barriers, creating a chain of lakes, caves and waterfalls over thousands of years. The park’s forests shelter bears, wolves and rare bird species, with a mix of Alpine and Mediterranean vegetation. You will drive on to Opatija in the afternoon.
Day 7: Opatija and Poreč
Day Trip · Istria
This morning you will have a private transfer to the Istrian peninsula, stopping in Poreč to see the 6th-century Euphrasian Basilica, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built on an early-Christian complex dating to the 4th century, with floor mosaics still preserved in the basilica garden. Continue to Rovinj, Istria’s star coastal attraction, set on its own small peninsula, with the Punta Corrente Forest Park and the wooded Zlatni Rt (Golden Cape) of old oak and pine, and two harbours: a northern open harbour and a small protected one to the south. Drive back to your hotel.
Day 8: Opatija and Bled
Travel Day · Slovenia
This morning you will be driven to Bled, Slovenia’s most popular lakeside resort. Take a boat ride to the pilgrimage church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary, built at the end of the 17th century and decorated with Gothic frescoes from the 15th century and later Baroque elements. Overnight in Bled.
Day 9: Bled, Ljubljana and Zagreb
Travel + Guided Tour
This morning you will be driven to Ljubljana for a guided sightseeing tour of the Slovenian capital, positioned on the trade route between the northern Adriatic and the Danube region; its castle and cathedral are the main landmarks of the old town. You will then continue on to Zagreb.
Day 10: Zagreb
Guided City Tour
This morning you will meet your guide for a sightseeing tour. Zagreb is a city of three parts: the thousand-year-old Gornji Grad (Upper Town), with St Mark’s Church, the Presidential Palace and the Croatian Parliament (Sabor), set among galleries and museums along gaslit cobbled streets; and the 19th-century Donji Grad (Lower Town), with its restaurants, cafés, theatres and parks. Zagreb is also known as a city of museums. In the evening you are free to sample a delicious Croatian dish at one of the restaurants.
