DAY BY DAY
9 days and 8 nights from Dubrovnik to Tiranë.
Day 1: Arrival in Dubrovnik
Arrival Day
Arrival and private transfer to your hotel. After an orientation tour of the Old Town of Dubrovnik, the rest of the day is free to enjoy at leisure.
Day 2: Dubrovnik
Guided Walking Tour
A walking tour of the Old City streets, the city walls, the City Cathedral, the Church of St. Blaise, the Sponza Palace, the Rector’s Palace and the Franciscan Monastery, home to one of the oldest pharmacies in the world, along with the bell towers and Orlando’s Column. Take a cable car ride for views over the city, or an excursion to Lokrum Island. In the evening, visit the fishing village of Cavtat for seafood and sunset.
Day 3: Kotor and Budva
Day Trip · Montenegro
Cross the border into Montenegro. Visit the Bay of Kotor and Our Lady of the Rocks, a monastery reached by private boat, with lunch in Kotor. In the afternoon, continue to Budva: the Budva Riviera and the Old Town.
Day 4: Berat
Travel Day
Drive through Albania, passing Shkodër and Rozafa Castle and the coastal town of Durrës, to Berat. See Kala Castle, dating to the 13th century, with its Byzantine churches and Ottoman-era mosques.
Day 5: Ohrid
Travel Day · UNESCO Site
Spend the morning in Berat, then travel via Elbasan to the border with North Macedonia, passing Ottoman-era fortification ruins along the way. Arrive in Ohrid, a UNESCO World Heritage town on Lake Ohrid, one of the deepest lakes in the Balkans.
Day 6: Ohrid
Guided City Tour
A walking tour of Ohrid’s old town, including the National Museum, the Gallery of Icons, and the churches of St. Sofia and St. Clement, regarded as the site of the first university in Europe. The day also includes a pilgrimage visit to the Sveti Naum monastery.
Day 7: Tiranë
Travel Day
Drive to Tirana to see the National Museum, the Ethem Bey Mosque, the clock tower and the downtown area.
Day 8: Tiranë
Day Trip · Kruja
A day trip to the hillside town of Kruja, with its fortress, its bazaar, and the museum dedicated to Albania’s national hero, Skanderbeg, who defended the country against the Ottoman Empire.
Day 9: Departure from Tiranë
Departure Day
Private transfer to the airport in Tiranë for your departure flight.
